Marcus Aurelius foi o ultimo imperador dos tempos aureos de Roma (ultimo dos cinco grandes Imperadores de Roma Nerva, Trajan, Hadrian, Antoninus Pius e Marcus Aurelius ).
Os Imperadores que se seguem ditam a queda do império Romano.

Marcus Aurelius é considerado um dos mais importantes filósofos Estoicos.
